Important:HELP! Cant connect to My server windows 8 labtop HELP!

Version: 3.1.2

OS: windows 8 labtop

Java Version: java 7

Description of Problem:

I have a server on my windows 8 labtop and whenever I try to connect to it from the same labtop (or any other computer) I get the error "Java.net.ConectionExeption: connect : address is invalid on local machine, or port is not valid on remote machine" and I get disconnected. I tried the local ip (192.168.1.***) and the public ip (69.***.13.88) but whenever I try localhost I cant even see the server's motd. How would I connect to the server? Please Help!

Well, seems its a personal problem, and not a mod problem. Might be a AV, Might be a bad port, Might be something else. Good luck with solving your problem.
