MattyJMP Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Im getting a laptop and am on quite a tight budget, i have found one with an I5 processor and 6gb RAM (i can put it up to 8 if nessacary), my only worry is it has an Intel HD 4000 graphics card (its integrated and can use up to 1.65ram i think...), would did suffice for playing Technic on low-medium settings at a good frame rate? Also ive heard of Optifine? if someone could explain what this is and if it would help with lag (ive heard it would...) Thanks
Richs_Yard Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Optifine helps with generating chunks, and lets you do many things all while keeping a stable frame rate.
MattyJMP Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Okay thanks so I'm guessing it would help, but if someone could get back to me abt the intel 4000, and whether it would be enough with an i5 and 6gb, that would be great....
holymage! Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 as a side note for you optifine is a JAR mod, and therefore must be put in the minecraft.jar (modpack.jar if you using the technic launcher)
Torezu Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Having a dedicated graphics card for even original Minecraft is a good idea; though it will run with integrated, it won't be pretty. I can't necessarily say the same thing for Tekkit Lite/custom packs. A friend of mine uses a computer with an integrated chipset and a custom pack, and it's...bad.
