Galacticraft Space Station materials?

Is there a way to check the materials for a space station without going into space? (I forgot to take note the first time)

Redstone reception coils 0/1

What is the redstone reception coil for? I noticed that it stays in my inventory even though it is a required item. Still even more mysteriously it disappears when I right click on the blue spawning block in the station with it equipped.

It sounds like the redstone reception coil is being removed from your inventory but not updated to your client, but I'm not sure.
