Can't download Tekkit

Antivirus Program: none

Description of Problem:

When using the launcher, I can't get past this error message. I've seen this problem posted already in the forums, but I didn't see a resolution. I'd greatly appreciate some help! :-)

Check your firewall, anti-virus etc to ensure they aren't blocking the launcher

Thanks for the help. I've checked those things: The firewall is off. I had previously enabled some parental controls, but nothing related to downloads on this account. I have now turned those controls completely off. I have never used antivirus software on this machine. I have no trouble playing minecraft or accessing other items on the net. Able to launch Tekkit Classic with a previous tekkit launcher. Any other ideas?

hi I've got the same problem but HOWdo you turn your sophos anti-virus off on a mac lion.
