Big Dig freezes at Mojang Screen

I've run into problems trying to launch Big Dig. I use Mac OSX 10.6.8, and tried to run Big Dig on both its recommended build and updated build, both freeze on the Mojang Screen after a little window pops up and shows the terrain generator's progress. From there it does nothing and I have to force quit it. Ive tried redownloading the mod pack, but this does not help.

Try making sure that increase permgen is checked in the Technic Launcher settings, and make sure you have 1 gig of ram at least, preferably at least 2.
