Tekkit 3.1.2 Sound Failure

The sound won't load, even if i adjust the minecraft in-game settings, it wont turn on! i know its not my speakers, because they work just fine.

and here's part of the launcher log:

How do i fix this?

May either be not enough RAM dedicated to tekkit, or you muted something..

My speakers work just fine, and tekkit has 768MB of ram. Is that enough?(i only have 1G of ram... Windows XP)

With the old technic launcher, the sound worked fine. idk why it doesnt now.

Give it more ram. It must be a little difficult for it to run with so little ram.

i'll try that. idk if i can without causing a computer crash. i only have 1GB of ram.

..... i forgot how to give tekkit more ram. d'oh! it's been awhile since i did something like that.

Press the cog gear in the top right corner of the launcher. The scroll down menu next to memory

oh. the launcher gives only 2 choices for memory: 512MB and 768MB

iv'e been using 768MB. should i try 512?

Stay with that configuration. The more the better. Otherwise try going into the control panel, and find where your sound controller is located. It may be that your speakers were disabled by something.

My sound was like that a few days ago but you should be able to fix it by closing Tekkit then disabling your antivirus for a few minutes then restarting Tekkit.
