Help with medallions

Does anyone know how to use the medallions. I made one but i do not know how to use it. It appears to need a charge but i do not know how to charge it.

To charge them

Earth medallion requires you to take fall damage,

fire one requires you to take fire or lava damage,

Wind one requires damage from arrows,

Ender one you charge by staring at endermen.
