Tekkit Classic is very laggy

HI guys, newbie here.

So after I bought Minecraft 6 moths ago, I played Tekkit, until the new update with Tekkify, Tekkit Lite. But my favourite Tekkit , is the Classic one, and for some reason, the one that has the biggest lag. I run other games at high settings, and they run very smooth, I run in vanilla 256x256 texture packs with absolutely no lag, but in Tekkit Classic, at the lowest settings possible, it's still lagging. How can I get rid of this lag, and finally be able to play with my friends this modpack properly ?

If matters, here are my specs

DDR3/1600MHz Quad Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance)

16 GB RAM

Intel Core i7

AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (Major Brand Powered by AMD)

HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO

SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)

As with almost all other lag problems, dedicate more RAM to the technic launcher. Its done by opening the launcher, clicking on the cog in the top right corner, press memory and allocate a reasonable amount like 5 or 6 gigs.
