Checking Launcher Version

Hi guys, cant get technic 6 to work :/, i download it with a brand new minecraft installed, then load the technic launcher, it says downloading files, then when it gets to 100% stops and says checking launcher version and then crashes and closes, ive deleted and re-downloaded multiple times now and nothing is working, please help ?

I have the exact same problem and I also tried deleting and re-downloading but nothing works.

I just found the tekkit yesterday and I really look forward to trying it.

More information would be helpful, I believe you are supposed to use the bug reporting format, which can be found in the following link:

A probable fix for your problem is listed there. It basically says that the launcher needs a 64 bit operating system (OS) and version of Java.

If you have a 32 bit OS then it says to use the .jar located in the ".techniclauncher" folder.

If you have a 64 bit OS then ensure that you are also have the 64 bit version of Java installed. The "Common Problems and Solutions" thread will tell you how to check your Java version.

Without you providing further details I do not think you can get a clearer answer and at least read around a LITTLE bit next time. I mean, the thread title is highlighted in orange and is in all CAPS.

look man, have you heard of stickies? no? well they're these magical things that always stay at the top of the forum so you can find them easily. I have it on good authority that a lot of common problems, just like yours, have solutions that are listed in them. now, I don't know about you, but when someone told me that I almost died of surprise because I had always assumed those threads were demon possessed and would sell my soul to the devil if I clicked on them, but it's not true! you should totally read them, you even get to keep your soul!

the techniclauncher doesn't need a minecraft install, instead it makes its own independend folder so it does not affect your .minecraft folder in any way.
