ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I was playing Hexxit survival, when suddenly the program stops responding and windows starts searching for a solution. I waited a while, until eventually my computer started slowing down immensely and I had to open Task Manager and close the darn thing. It has happened multiple times since, mostly at unfavorable times. The last time it happened, when I was frolicking around a Walker castle I had just conquered, the screen the game froze on appeared to be a wood-ish texture in 3D spiky crystal form. My laptop has a history of graphics crashes every now and then, and on one occasion it went into a graphical death spiral and bluescreened. Why are these crashes occurring, and what can I do about them?

ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Specs? Try allocating more Ram to Hexxit as well. How do I retrieve the "Specs"? Also, How would I allocate more RAM to Hexxit? I thought I could only allocate more memory to the launcher as a whole.

ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Forget the specs. How much ram have you allocated to the 'launcher as a whole'. 3GB.
Vivacity Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 3GB. Are your 'graphical crashes' occuring with only Minecraft or other games as well?
ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Are your 'graphical crashes' occuring with only Minecraft or other games as well? I don't know, I've been playing nothing but Hexxit for the last few days. The crashes occur randomly, so I wouldn't know for sure if I tried playing another game.
ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I have not detected increased Permgen. What do you mean?
ferrettomato Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Are your 'graphical crashes' occuring with only Minecraft or other games as well?oh wait, I misunderstood. When my graphics card was having extreme problems (which was followed by the blue screen of death), I accidentally started up Spore, and the 3D galaxy on the main menu looked weird. But aside from that, no.
Joker2040 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The Technic Launcher has a gear in the top right. Increase Permgen is one of the options. Big Dig and Hexxit both need increased Permgen. That's were it stores the mods. Hexxit has many and large mods.
