External Port?!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I've set up a server and it's worked fine for a year now. And then I get a new laptop and I decide 'Oh, let's make another server, but on here!'

First problem I had- Couldn't figure out the password for my router

I finally solved it(stupid charter)

The problem now- I have everything set up, port forwarding and stuff, but my external port is not open! NOT OPEN! My friend got his server up and he said something about external output, but he just confused me even more. And my firewall, oh my firewall. I have windows vista and the firewall settings confuse me also. And the firewall won't let me add a port that's TCP and UTC(or whatever its called) at the same time. I just want my own tekkit classic server. ): So bad.

Please help me.

I found a screen shot on google of what your router port-forward settings look like.

If they don't look like this they may be similar.

Try find how to get to your port forwarding page, if you cant find it try looking in advanced options or features!

LDQTgCY.png

1. "Name" enter Tekkit

2. "Start Port" enter 25565

3. "End Port" enter 25565

4. "Start Port" enter 25565

5. "End Port" enter 25565

6. "Protocol" enter TCP

7. "Local IP" enter *Your Local IP*

If you don't know your local IP do this:

1. Open the program CMD

2. Type in IPCONFIG

3. Scroll to the top and look for "IPv4 Address . . . . . *These numbers are your local IP, enter it on step 7*

Thats your port forwarding done!

I hope this helped
