Having trouble finding the right version of towny

I'm having a really hard time finding the correct version of towny, and a good portals plugin for my new tekkit server. I've installed towny twice already, and both times when I tried to type "/Towny help", next to every command it just said "null" Can someone please help me?

Ahem. If you could be so kindly. What version of Towny were you using? What version of Tekkit Classic were you using? Tekkit Classic 3.1.2 uses a recommended build (1.2.5-R4.0)
