Hosting a server?

My friend and I have been at this issue for about 4 hours. And either we are not properly doing it, or maybe it's a glitch I am not sure and would sure appreciate your help.

Basically my friend has tried everything he could in order to host his server so I could play on it, but it continues to give me this message:

java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect

And he's taken down the password protection. So we're both highly confused.

Did he set up port forwarding on his router?

I don't think so, maybe he did but doesn't know how to do it properly.

It seems like that's the issue. Have him look up a tutorial or something. It's the same with a vanilla minecraft server.

Is there a specific one you could recommend? Sorry we're really amateurs ^^;

Try completely deleting your technic folder and re-downloading it from scratch.

Says it's Windows fault for Java FTP error message that matches yours.

Latest update says Microsoft has a hotfix for the ftp problem.
