Disabling creeper damage while playing SSP

Has anyone found or created a mod that disables creeper damage for single player Tekkit classic? I haven't found a sever I like yet, so I keep playing alone, but creeper explosions are constantly threatening my machines.

I found one mod, but it doesn't seem to work. I think it was made for vanilla minecraft 1.2.5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look in the default config files for Minecraft, should be a mobGriefing rule that you can change to false.

Where would I find that file? I know you can change that gamerule in tekkit light with minecraft version 1.4, but in 1.2, there's no cheat mode enabled to activate the command line interface.
