When will the launcher/platform accept the new versions of minecraft?

When will the launcher/platform accept the new versions of minecraft?

As I want to create some modpacks and a few other things for my technic launcher and some modpacks in which my friends can use, I would like it if the minecraft versions supported also included the newer versions. Can someone please tell me if this is going to happen and if so when?

I believe no ETAs are allowed, they make you sound like you're whining. This is one of those cases, I'm afraid.

Okay firstly I am a newbie (to this forum that is), secondly what is an ETA, thirdly I was asking a question and had no clue where to put it so I put it here and instead of being negative how about you provide constructive criticism instead, finally I do not whine even if it sounds like it

That's generally not considered an excuse around here. All members are 100% expected to be familiar with The Rules, new or otherwise.

And ETA is exactly what you asked. It literally means, "Estimated Time of Arrival." The only answer we can give you (And likely the only answer you'll get from anyone, even platform devs) is "It'll happen when it happens." and/or "It'll be done when it's done.

I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer, but that's all I know.
