LAN server help

Hi, I'm semi-new to Hexxit, and I am trying to set up a LAN server for my sister and I to play on.

I can set it up, and it shows up in her multiplayer servers, but when she tries to connect, it times out.

Any ideas? Help, please!

Did you try connecting through direct connect, using the internal IP instead, with the correct port?

That seems to work for me 'most of the time.'

If anything else fails, well, perhaps check your virusscanner/firewall settings.

I just read a thread that recommended to make sure that both computers have the used network set as a 'home' network.

I am having the same problem as le and i tried everything you said but i had no luck but i did discover that my friend can connect to my lan its just me that cant connect to his lan. If there are any more ideas on how to fix this i am open to almost anything.
