Smeltery help? lol

I'm just starting out on Hexxit (so dont yell at me) and i've hit a roadblock. I built the smeltery exactly how the book describes it, I've even done a follow up on reliable youtubers and their smelteries. I can smelt items (that works perfectly fine) but i dont know how to drain it. i have set up a drain, faucet, and casting table correctly but the alloy just wont drain. help please? :)

have you put a cast on the casting table to fill? (e.g. an ingot, pickaxe head, etc.)

yes i have.

and then you right-click on the drain? how much material have you smelted (if you mouse-over the liquid level in the smeltery control block it will tell you how much)?
