Title: Crash soon as world is created. Shutting down internal server.

Version: 1_0_3

OS: Windows 7 64 bit 4GB Ram 2.30ghz, Intel® Core i5-2410M CPU

Java Version: Java Version 6 Update 23 (build 1.6.0_24b07)

Description of Problem:

When I run Tekkit, I create a new world, go onto the world and near instantaneously of when the world appears, it goes to the dirt screen and says "shutting down internal server" from where it freezes and i use task manager to shut it off. I think it could possibly be the fact that im running minecraft version 1.5.2, but ive tried uninstalling and redownloading minecraft to the latest version, it never works. It just keeps saying minecraft version 1.5.2 but when i got onto actual minecraft it says 1.6.2? (scratch that i just found out thats the latest version Tekkit is up to)

UPDATE: Now it doesnt even do that! It doesnt even show me the world -_-

I start a new game, it has the whole "building terrain" thing going, then suddenly flicks to the main menu (which it always did, but then returned to the world) and when it flicks back i get the dirt screen and "shutting down internal server" this sucks *^* I was really excited upon opening this mod up and i am at a loss of how to fix this, ive tried reinstalling both minecraft and tekkit

No I dont think I am! But in the version selection for putting up my error, it only gave me the option for version 1.0.3 . Perhaps that means i do have 1.0.3? But I downloaded it off the site? How would I check?

EDIT: Just checked in the tekkit launcher notepad document thing "[iNFO] Mod pack Build: 1.1.8" so no, im on 1.1.8 :( But in the version selection for making the bug report 1.0.3 was the only option.

Thanks for the attempt though! :D

Yeah, I get the same problem. I tried to lower my graphics settings and set the FPS limit to MaxFPS. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Maybe this is a bug?

I had the same problem and I found this solution on another thread in this forum. It worked for me! I have a mac so it could be possible that some of these things are named or located differently

1. Start TechnicLauncher

2. Top Right Corner (Launcher Options)

3. Activate "Increase PermGen Size"

4. Launch the game

If that doesn't work, I heard from a friend that the problem could be situated when you have multiple versions on java installed.

Hope it helps!

I had the same problem myself with several mod packs that were big enough to leave my computer with "no memory".  The way i fixed it was by going to Java and downloading the x64 version offline. This allowed me to go to the Tekkit launcher options and change my memory allocated from max 1 GB all the way to my 8 GB that my ram has to offer. The reason why many people have the server shutting down error is because if they are running x32 java no matter how much ram you have it will always only allocate 1 GB so most mods will not load fully before your memory is full, leading to failure. Once I dowloaded the x64 offline and changed it all the way to 6 GB of memory it loaded perfectly and had no more "missing chunks" that you could see past bedrock. Your windows system or whatever system you have must be x64 for this to work. Go to your settings/system/about (all the way at the bottom on windows 10) and then system type. If it says x64 go to https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and click the x64 offline. Once you dowload it (and uninstall the latest version only if while installing java asks you to) then you can open tekkit launcher go to Launcher Options on the Top right corner (Not modpack options)/Java settings/ Memory and change it to whatever value you want. I wouldn't do maximum so your computer runs smooth but also not so low that it doesn't solve it. In my case 4-6 GB worked just fine.

Hope it helps.
