map problem

i opened up my map to see if i could find some dungeons and i found one and wanted to go find it but now it wont let me close my map gui. i can walk around and stuff but i cant see anything because my map wont close. please help me fix this!

Use the escape key on the top left of your keyboard (esc).

I do that and it takes me out of the map GUI and I can move around and stuff but the map is still shown in my screen and I can move and stuff but I can see and then I can't press any of the map buttons like help and controls

so basically I can't get rid if the giant map covering my screen

I think 'n' cycles the mini-map (off, small circle, screen covering).
