Oil Impossible to get?

So... the title. I can't find oil in the overworld, just sludge and sewage. Additionally, the 'oil fabricator' crashes the game out when it gets to 17/whatever- essentially if I right click on it for any reason, bam. Instacrash.

Is my install screwed up somehow? I'm running version 2.0.4

As said MANY times before, you must go underground to find oil. And you will need to bring an oil extractor and empty canister, as buckets will not work.

And do not use the oil fabricator. It was disabled for a reason.

I can't use pipes/pumps, then?

Also, isn't there a way they could have disabled it without crashing the game? XP And is there a way to fix it, or am I just unable to use that part no matter what?
