Launcher resetted it self

Description of Problem:

when I started up the exe to load the launcher, it acted like l haven't installed it before, even though I was just using it not even 5 minutes before that happened.

I looked in the .technic folder, and all of my packs folders were gone, and a exe named temp.exe and had the tekkit logo was in the folder, and I don't rember seeing it before, so I started it up and it loaded the launcher.

my question is, why did it just reset and make me lose all of my packs?

Possible Fix

Open the .technic folder (Located C:Users<USERNAME>AppDataRoaming.technic or %Appdata%.technic) and delete the file Temp.exe. Then retry the TechnicLauncher and should work.

I found out the problem, It turns out that I was using a beta build of the launcher that is most likely unstable. I have reinstalled the launcher and set it to stable builds. still don't know why it deleted all of the folders in .technic.
