Problem launching the launcher

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version: 0.5.4.9

Operating System: Windows 7

Version of Java: Java 7 x64

Description of Problem:

I open the launcher, it says checking for version. Then closes and nothing more happens.

My java is up to date, PATH is set, and I have checked the COMMON PROBLEMS thread. Nothing helps, but one thing looks like my problem but not the right answer was given unfortunately.

Error Messages: N/A

Link to pastebin of log: N/A

Quick help is appreciated

- Thanks

Okay, lets try some standards first.

Have you tried all of the following:

Clear cache, restart?

Delete .techniclauncher, as well as techniclauncher.exe and redownload?

running the .jar?

reinstalling java?

selecting a different build (longshot)?

Clear chache: Done (Using CCleaner does the trick right?)

Delete: Done

Running the Jar: How?

Java reinstall: Done

Different build: How?

Still no go :/

Running the .jar: Find the launcher.jar (I think that's it) and right click and "Open with Java"

Different Build: Load the launcher, click options (under login), click manual build selection and choose from the drop down list.

most of what stigandr said.

Theres a button in the launcher that says clear cache. I'm pretty sure ccleaner doesn't do the same thing.

However, if a complete technic reinstall doesn't work, the cache wasn't the problem.

Running the jar worked, but that's the only way of me opening the launcher at the moment

EDIT: Changing build did nothing

Then it sounds like you should just make a .bat to run the jar for now.

OK

Thanks for all of the kind help.

1 unrelated queston tho, it says I'm on version 1,1 (Minecraft) in the main menu. Should it be 1.2.3 or 1.2.5?
