Launcher Version: 285

Operating System: Windows 7 (64 bit)

Java Version: Version 7 Update 45

Antivirus Program: Kaspersky Pure 3.0

Description of Problem:

I try launching any packs in the technic launcher by putting in my log in information and clicking launch but nothing happens but the launch button turning black with white text.

I can still change settings and navigate after the button turns black but it doesn't save any of my settings when I run the launcher again.

I've tried wiping the ".technic" appdata folder but that didn't solve any problems.

Also when I look into the ".technic" and look into the folders where the modpacks folders are, all I am greeted with is a bunch of the folders that are supposed to be there filled with the modpacks contents that are instead empty.

I have been having the same issue. I found using an older minecraft account (a username based one) still seems to work while a newer (email based) is not working for the launcher.

is your old account migrated with Mojang?

only reason im asking is because about a month back, you had to do something with your username on the mojang site to get it working properly, log on to this website and migrate your usernames, see if that fixes your problems, i havent had any issues since i migrated my account

Your idea doesn't work. Migrating the account didn't help me at all. I've been having this problem for about 3 months now. Still waiting for them to fix it.

If anyone does find a solution, it would be helpful to find out how to fix it. Mine was working perfectly this morning, then I logged out of minecraft, threw up a VMware server, and moved my tekkit-lite server over to a VM, loaded tekkit, hit launch, and everything stopped working. Nothing on this computer has changed at all, except I have installed vsphere on here. However, if I boot my computer into Linux it works fine. Only issue I am having is the aforementioned issue, while running on Windows 7 Ultimate. I have tried removing all associated files with Tekkit, as that has corrected issues before, I have tried re-installing java, I have tried downloading a new launcher. Nothing seems to correct this for my side, and if anyone can give me an idea of where to look next, that would be helpful, but for now, I am going to log over to Linux, and play there.

EDIT: One other thing did change, I haven't been in Windows for a while, so the launcher changed this morning as well.

The launcher is 297 now and i'm still having the same problems and error codes.... my log in has been my email since there was the whole mojang account thing and had been working fine until update 285. I'm hoping the launcher gets fixed because I rely on the technic launcher to play minecraft at all since A) i love mods and B) the new 1.6 minecraft launcher doesn't work for me.

Same prob Launch button is black. The launcher freezes for some time then it returns but it doesn't open/download anything

Same thing for me, I have tried to add a new modpack i click on + add new pack then log in then click launch but it goes black and nothing happens :(. The wierd thing is that it works with tekkit classic though and I havnt tried any other packs. I really hope this gets fixed soon because theres a modpack i really want.
