Wout Verstegen Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Hey there! I made my own mod pack and once i try to launch it, it doesnt do anything. When i go to my .technic folder and look for it in "modpacks" its there, but all the folders are empty, I`m pretty sure that`s the reason it doesnt work. It must be a download failure, I think. I really want to play my own modpack and I hope someone can give me some help with it. Im using dropbox for the download by the way. Tuow
jidd Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Does the Cache folder have the mod zip file in it? If your zip file is in the cache, you have the same problem i am having right now that i cant seem to fix. But if it is not in the cache folder, and it is empty, then you have a different problem... For drop box, did you put it in the public folder or share the link? Did you set up the modpack right? What version of minecraft is it made for?

Wout Verstegen Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 All the folders, including the cache file, are empty. Its for 1.6.2 and i just used share link for dropbox. Im sure the setup is right because i watched like 4 tutorials and I followed them along and did everything they did, so that must be fine.
Kitsune30 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Can you give us a link to your modpack's page?
Wout Verstegen Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 sure, here it is. http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/assembly-modpack
Kitsune30 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It successfully download, Really fast. I checked the cache to be sure it wasn't a failed download and it isn't. Is the pack supposed to be 29KB, or should it be larger? Also, when I went unzip it (as the Launcher console said a failure to unzip), I wasn't able to unzip the folder, even with 7zip. Which program did you use to zip the folder, and did you use a special setting?
Wout Verstegen Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 I used winrar, but I didnt do anything complicated I think. I think it wasnt a download fail, but something else, cause it still doesnt launch.
Wout Verstegen Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Now I see that my cache is has the correct file but the rest is still empty
Kitsune30 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Hmm.. I tried a different method to unzip it, but my computer told me there is nothing inside the zip folder. What is supposed to be inside the zip file?
Wout Verstegen Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 The main zip-file called Modpack assambly, right? inside there should be the whole modpack with forge and all the mods. I was told by a tutorial that you dont need a all the MC game folders and such but just forge, right?
Kitsune30 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Yes, about the modpack.zip. But the file is only 29KB, which isn't large enough for even Forge. Are you sure you zipped it correctly, and that the mods/Forge are in the zip file? Could you put a link up, that is only the files? Not the platform link, but a link to the actual download.
CanVox Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 The link you posted for your zip file doesn't go to the zip file for your pack, it goes to an HTML landing page that you can download the zip file from.
Wout Verstegen Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 the link is not to be clicked, but to be pasted into your Technic launcher. I will check the file once more and reply as soon as possible.
Wout Verstegen Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 I checked the file on my computer and its alot bigger than just 29KB. I`ll change the folder which should be downloaded to the right one. Weird that the file is wrong.
Wout Verstegen Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Ive uploaded the new file. This time i`ve recreated it with a template, so i had a little setup to help me. I just tested it, didnt make any difference though. Well, you guys had a different outcome than me any way.
Kitsune30 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Is the file hosted in your public folder on your dropbox account? the share link should look something like this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/133366779/Blank%20Pack.zip
Wout Verstegen Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 I`m new to dropbox, i think its hosted on my account. How do I set to public?
TwoTails Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I`m new to dropbox, i think its hosted on my account. How do I set to public? just put it in the "Public" folder
Kitsune30 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 You may not have a Public folder yet, Dropbox did some changing a few months ago. You can turn it on here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/16/en

Wout Verstegen Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 did it, i quess the link doesnt change
TwoTails Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I have noticed something: the file is a 404. meaning it doesn't exsist. when its a www. it brings me to drop box's 404 and when its a dl. it's a 404.
Wout Verstegen Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 huh? so what do i need to do now then?
Wout Verstegen Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 I think ive got a good link, the link should be fixed now. Ive tested it and it works now, except for one thing. It says it doesnt have the file called "Ichunutil". Any ideas?
