I'm currently playing single player with the Tekkit pack. Why you may ask? I started playing it on a server with a friend until he decided he didn't want to play anymore, so I just put it into single player as I didn't know about compatibility issues with Technic and Tekkit. Anyway..
I have a small house with a load of machines, nuclear reactor next to it, some solar panels etc. So basically, most things that would use up my CPU usage are in my house. I have 2 quarries and 1 pump outside my house, around 20 blocks away.
When I am in or just close to my house, I get around 20 FPS which I'm happy with overall. I run low settings as my laptop is not designed for heavy gaming. Now, the weird bit.. when I walk any further than around 10-15 blocks away from my house my FPS drop to around 2. I can't see any logical explanation for this at all.
Here are my specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
4GB DDR3 RAM
Running Java 7
If anyone has any clue what is causing this, I'll be happy to try pretty much anything. Before it never used to do this, it's just recently. Yes, I am on the latest version of Tekkit and the launcher.
