dadus2000 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 So I created a modpack for my server, called ArcticZone (That's also the name of the server, wich is from Romania so don't struggle to understand what is written in the backround.). The modpack works really nice, except one thing: it has no icon!! I went into the assets folder and there was no icon.png in there, even after I added a logo. I created one manually, but that didin't show up when I launched the modpack. The modpack is not ever using the default icon for vanilla minecraft but an icon minecraft used to use in the pre-alpha versions. And that's not the only problem. It doesn't even show the name of the modpack! So yep, that's the problem: By the way, link for the launcher is: http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/arcticzone-modpack
Valtrino Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 And you uploaded it in the edit my modpack section?
dadus2000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 what do you mean? I created my modpack by creating a zip file with the files needed, uploading it in the cloud and than configuring it in the "create new modpack" section.
Valtrino Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 what do you mean? I created my modpack by creating a zip file with the files needed, uploading it in the cloud and than configuring it in the "create new modpack" section. And in that section there was a spot to upload/link and image. Did you do that?
dadus2000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Yes. Otherwise the modpack woudn't work.
Valtrino Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yes. Otherwise the modpack woudn't work. That's not true. I have a modpack on there and i never put an image. it just didnt bother me. But since you said you did it i'm not going to accuse you of not doing it lol. Well i tried...
dadus2000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 I though you were talking about the Modpack location URL.
dadus2000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Unfortunately, the same thing happens...
Valtrino Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Then this is unknown to me, i apologize I'd say hang on for a day maybe its just lag and it'l show up later. or maybe they go through a verification process to screen for inappropriate content
dwwojcik Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 You can't have an icon without Technic Solder. (Or at all with the latest version of the launcher, I think they're working on that.)
dadus2000 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 So will I be able to have an icon if they'll get the new version running well?
dwwojcik Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 If you use the Solder API for your modpack, yes, I believe so.
dadus2000 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 I have no experience with the Solder API, and I heard it's kind of hard to use. Is this true?
dwwojcik Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Hang on. Do you mean the pack logo (That shows up on the left side of the launcher) or the pack icon? (That shows up on the taskbar and the top of the window)
dwwojcik Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Ok. In that case, if you absolutely can't live without it, then your only option is Solder. I'm pretty sure you need a web server for that.
dadus2000 Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 well that's weird because I have made another modpack some time ago and it showed up the icon (the same as the logo).
dwwojcik Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 The launcher needs to be updated, supposedly that will come back.
jwa1 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Minecraft 1.5.2 modpack will show with your logo in the icon bar, 1.6 modpacks however will take the default Minecraft logo (crafting bench) as icon.
