My Quarry Mining Arm won't appear

I have built a quarry on single player survival and the frame will be built but once it is done no mining arm/drill appears. The steam enging I am using is still pumping and the energy looks like it is being spent but no mining is being done.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you powering it with a single steam engine? If so, try more power. You might want to use 4 or even 5 Steam Engines, and that's at minimum.

Thanks, i tried in creative and 2 worked. In the new version of tekkit 1 was working for me, but i am using the Minetek modpack which maybe different and I have to use 2.

well, I could be wrong; I'm going based on the wiki and the recommendation to have 9 MJ/t for minimum operation. And I'm not familiar with Minetek. Maybe somebody else has some useful input.

i go with at least three stirling engines. thermal expansion steam engines can power a quarry slowly with one, though.
