Java Version: 64bit

This is not a version, that's just bits. We need to know what version you are using. Google or ask a friend if you dont know

Why do you have 2 antiviruses? While Avast is good SFR is unknown and could be the reason, try disabling it.

Before starting the launcher, try right clicking and choose "Run as admin".

Tell me if that works

I have 2 antivirus because when I want to do something that avast let pass SFR just block it. So I use this to can switch when I need.

And SFR Is a french antivirus(Yeah I'm french and Sfr Is crapy for antivirus and paid but I keep it it will be usefull one day) and a connexion operator(don't know how to say it in french and in english x) )

PS: the launcher worked before with SFR

Error accessing URL.

Yepp,.. It's accectly the same as your picture,.. Everything is offline!

You may have the same error, but are you living with frostdu10 and use his computer?

Please don't jump in someone elses bug thread, it doesn't help frostdu10 nor does it help me finding the problem. Make your own bug thread.

Frostdu10, I'm still waiting for answers to my original question: java? Run as admin?

You said all modpacks are offline, so none of the officiall modpacks work? (tekkit, tekkit lite, hexxit, big dig)

Lapitos galacticraft is a custom modpack, so I wont help with that one, better ask the modpack creator.

I just noticed you have launcher build 378, the latest is 383. Delete the launcher and .technic + .techniclauncher folders - remember to backup your saves - then redownload the latest technic launcher

you have java 7, 45. The latest is 7.51, uninstall what you have and redownload the latest

After you done this, try running the launcher as admin again

okay... I've got to ask you something you probably wont like: try uninstalling SFR. I think it may be causing this.

I've heard of users who have used Norton before with the launcher, which is kinda like using a ticking time bomb, they never know when it will block the launcher.

Edit. before you do that, could you please check in the Control Panel -> Uninstall Programs if you have a "Relevant Knowledge" installed"?

I just took a few minutes to search this error

RestfulAPIException: Timed out accessing URL

on this forum.

It doesn't seem to be fixable. It's basically a flood of users stampeding on the technic server, making your launcher hyperventilate and faint out.

I don't know why I haven't had this problem, perhaps because I live in a different timezone than the U.S?

The only solution thats been adviced: try again another time. Try spam-launching the launcher with the "Run as admin" 1-3 times, wait an hour then try again.

If I ever stumble on a permanent solution, I'll tell.

I thought the same thing. That maybe its just to many people using the launcher at once, but I tried it at 6 am, 9am, 1 pm, 4 pm, 7pm, and 10pm. I kept getting the Offline bug. I have tried reinstalling everything, but nothing works. I believe its on Technic's side that the problem is occurring and, hopefully, they are trying to solve is issue.

Same Problem. The Launcher is allways Offline.

Windows 7 Ultimate, 64, SP1

Java 7 Update 51 (Build 1.7.0_51-b13)

Windows Firewall (I checked with and without - both with no result)

Avira Antivirus Suite 14.0.2.286 (I checked with and without - both with no result)

You are not Frostdu10, you do not use his computer. This is frostdu10's bug thread, make your own bug thread so I can pinpoint your problem.

Hi Frostdu10, I found the solution with the timed out. This method however is mostly for windows so I don't know how Mac differs.

Get your command window up and copy this line

setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

If your mac doesn't have a command window, well then we have to do this more complicated:

  1. Click start
  2. Right click on Compter and choose properties
  3. In the left column, click Advanced system settings
  4. Choose the Advanced tab
  5. Click the Environment Variables button
  6. Under System variables, click New
  7. Set Variable name to _JAVA_OPTIONS
  8. Set Variable value to -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
  9. Close all windows you've opened

Thank JBird1 for this solution. This solution is also on Windows, so your buttons and configurations might differ...
