Got some issues I'm hoping to get resolved if possible.
Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit 2.1.1
Operating System: Ubuntu 11.10
Version of Java: JDK 7u3
Description of Problem: Multiple
Server Info (Dedicated box)
MB: ASUS M2N-SLI
RAM: 8GB (Can't remember the type off hand)
Originally had 3GB allocated to Minecraft, now 5GB.
Processor: AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+
Players: Total 8, white-list
The problem is this, when an individual is off-line their items don't accumulate power or other items during ticks. An example of this, throw a bunch of wood into some coke ovens, log out, and when you come back the next morning they would all be made into charcoal. Now if you do this, they may or may not have been made into charcoal.
--Current Problem List
EE Collector's & Condensor's not accumulating EE Points and generation of items when off-line.
IC2 Solar and Wind Generator's not producing power and/or storage boxes not receiving/storing said power.
Coke Ovens not producing charcoal/oil.
All Ender Chests wiped their inventories (happened just this morning, but may have been due to a stop and restart of the server).
All this started happening about 2-4 weeks ago, and it does not happen with the entire group. It was originally with one player, and increasing the RAM allocation on the server seemed to fix it. Now it has become more widespread, and there is one very interesting part to all of this. I had 7 coke ovens in operation, 1 of them was in it's "own" 8x8 block section, with the other 6 in about 3-4 others. The 6 coke ovens functioned as normal and produced charcoal even when I was not logged in, but the 7th did not. My group has done research and there are plenty of other servers out there running just fine with a lot less.
We have several theories of why this may be occuring:
1) Ubuntu 11.10
2) Something specific with the motherboard which may be causing this
3) Poor system for a server
4) Hmmm...???
Current plan of attack:
1) Try different OS(s)
2) See if using my main system (ASUS P6T Deluxe, i7 920, 12GB RAM) as the server works (though will most likely put Linux on it instead of using my Win 7 OS)
Hopefully I explained it well enough, and hopefully someone knows or has other thoughts what may be going on. Any help on this would be very appreciative.
Oh, I do have a vent server running also on the server.
