dragonboy1478 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 i want to do lets play minecraft on youtube but i dont know what recording software i need to use and how to record my voice and there voice at the same time and if you want to do lets play minecraft and u record i wouldnt mind
Yuriy Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 There's a couple of free ones but the best success I've had is with Fraps. Google it and try out the 30s demo version. If you can swing the 30-40 bucks 37 USD or whatever it costs, it records in-game sound and live voice or just in-game sound and you can dub the voice in later.
abigscaryhobo Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I wouldn't mind doing a lets play, I don't have the full version of fraps though. Im pretty well rounded on tekkit as a whole though. PM me if you're interested
Diablo2849 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 To do a let's play first you would need .Fraps registered version An unregistered version sucks because it would need 37 dollars just for that .Audacity It's totally free .Microphone/Webcam and Skype Mic and Webcam probably is expensive so...there is no other choice and Skype is only when you want to play with anyone else I could do the recording, skype, and use Audacity because I already have all things needed
riflehero Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 i could do a lets play but not the recording part.
DoodTheDud Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Out of curiosity, does anyone know a good way to combine/edit the fraps recordings?
Olas Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Out of curiosity, does anyone know a good way to combine/edit the fraps recordings? You would use video editing software such as Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc. All of these cost hundreds of dollars but some of them have free trials. If you just need something free and simple, most people on Youtube get by with Windows Movie Maker (PC obviously) or iMovie (OSX). The results are far from astounding but if you just need something to clip pieces together the free options are the best choice. If you need anything beyond that, I am sure there are some decent and cheap consumer grade video editors out there but unfortunately I haven't used any to give a recommendation.

I'll try to find some guides on Windows Movie Maker then, thanks. I tried it out and was confused. I've used iMovie which felt simpler to me, but I'll give Movie Maker another shot. Appreciate the advice.
Olas Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 No problem! Depending on how long ago it was when you tried Movie Maker, it may have changed since the last time you used it. The most recent version is a lot simpler; comparable to iMovie.
