Norton is a terrible AV that doesn't recognise what Technic is and will do anything to screw with it.

Uninstall Norton. Get a better AV like Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast!

Try the modpack again. If it doesn't work then please answer this:

What bits is your OS and Java, 32 or 64?

Please stop double and quadruple posting, use the edit button if you wish to add more information. As for FTB I can't help there, you need to ask FTB forum support thread.

Do me a favour and delete the .technic folder in %appdata% -> Roaming -> .technic

Remember to backup any saves in each modpack you've played!

Before you open the launcher, right-click and choose Run as admin. If the packs are still offline after this (try it a couple of times to be sure) then try downloading a modpack from the Platform. After you tried that and download failed, post the error log in here. I'd like to see if anything has changed...

Well hello hello familiar error, so we meet again...

Get your command window up and copy the following line and paste it there

I really wished all errors was this easy... I really do, but some are disguised with other errors and some are really obscure to identify. Happy Tekkiteering!
