Map gone!

Was playing my game, building my house and the game crashed.  Went back in to single player to start it up again and my map is gone, just gone.  Needless to say I am a little upset.

 

Edit:  OK, I found the file with my map.  How do I get it back on the launcher?

What you can do to fix this, Generate a new world and copy the following fils from the new world to the old world:  level.dat

Please note that you lose your Inventory, achievements, mapwriter info, etc.
