baztardz Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Hi please help me... I'm kinda new to this site but ive tried to create a modpack of my own, I created the modpack itself with all the folders inside. i deleted the folders that where empty, then i uploaded it to Dropbox as a .zip file. Heres to confusing part, I copied the link from Dropbox and placed it inside Technic Launcher. Tiooo make sure it works i tried to download it myself. When i took the link given from technic launcher and placed it inside the TechnicLauncher.exe on my computer it starts to download and then stops saying ''failed to download from (link to dropbox file) consult the modpack author... Please help I dont know what to do...
Jeffrey007 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 i have got exactly the same problem. Ive followed the instructions did exactly what i was told to do my modpack doesn't crash cause ive tested it. the link is an direct download. i can't figure it out. And the most weird thing is that when i go to my .technic folder and open my custom mod folder and look in to the cache folder my custom zip is downloaded there with everything in it it just needs to be extracted and installed thats it.... any fixes or things i did't noticed..?? :x

Jeffrey007 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/125481349/gst-1.0.zip this is my modpack zip file http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/gst.288524 and this is the modpack itself.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted February 28, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted February 28, 2014 Your modpack is in RAR format even though it has a .zip extension. All files intended for use by or with the platform MUST be in ZIP format only. Your modpack.jar file is corrupted or something. I can open it in winzip but cannot extract any files. You'll need to replace that file. You have "minecraftforge-universal-1.5.2-7.8.1.738.zip" in your mods folder. It shouldn't be there. Remove it.
Jeffrey007 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Thank you very much the problem is solved it downloads and installs it correctly.
