Possible problems with NEI

So, since the update I've been having an issue with NEI, for some reason it remains stuck in recipe mode. Despite that it says it is on Cheat Mode or even Utilities Mode it remains unchanged and sticks to recipe mode. Anyone else been having this problem or know a way to fix it? I have already done a full cleanup and reinstall but that did nothing.

Im afraid i don't have a solution but a similar problem. NEI worked fine yesterday but today the menu for it wont even open, No options or anything, nothing related to NEI is showing up. I tried downloading the server things again but doesn't work, so if anyone out there has a solution for this that would be much appreciated

It sounds like this might be the issue.

 

Open your inventory.

Click "Options" in the bottom left corner.

Click "Inventory".

In the top right, click "Global". The button should change to "World".

Now, small buttons with a "W" will have appeared next to the options. Right-click the one next to "Cheat Mode".

 

That should fix it.

I don't get the options tab (supposed to be in bottom left hand corner whilst inv is opened) fullstop. It seems as if NEI hasn't downloaded, and I don't know what to do about it.
