MFCopenhagen Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Wondering why our AOTBT server, hosted by CubedHost, has significant lag and crashing issues. The server is set up with 2 GB RAM and we only have two players. We don't have any additional plugins or mods. I don't understand, with our server running the way it is, how others can possibly run 30-60 player servers and experience little lag. Maybe there is something I can do to improve the performance...?
GenPage Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Sounds like you either have a crappy server host or your MC server is not setup correctly. Care to share the IP address/hostname of the server? I can run some tests. You can do so also, just open the cmd prompt, and use "ping <server>" or "tracert <server>" (Windows tools) Ping while test round-trip packet timings (in milliseconds). Trace Route will map out the hops/hits to the server.

Koooda Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 well i dont think that its a crappy hosting company as its the same people that GenerikB uses to host his server

Your connection seems fine. Seems like its the actual server itself, or how you have your MC server configured
MFCopenhagen Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Don't really know. It's pretty much "out of the box." The only thing I've changed is the server difficulty.
MFCopenhagen Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Need to find some way to allow the two of us to play this incredible modpack without the constant lag and need to restart the server every hour.
MFCopenhagen Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 If anybody could provide any helpful information, it would be appreciated. I know the server host to be decent quality. We've re-installed the modpack multiple times. Just looking for a little information to find a solution. Thanks in advance.
