Server Log location?

Hey all you happy crafters!

 

So, I'll admit, I'm super new to the world of Minecraft and hosting (well, we'll say a few months experience), so I hope this isn't just one of those cases of "its right under your nose" , but I'm trying to find the server logs.

 

When I looked in the "logs" folder of the server (like they were with a normal minecraft server), it came up with 2 files dated 2/23/-- (forgot the year, I'm at work at the moment ), the server's been open for about a week now, so there should be more than just those two files and with different dates, ya know.

 

Can someone help me out here?

 

Is there another directory that they may be stored at that anyone knows of? (Windows 7, the server is saved on my desktop)

This will be highly dependent on which host you are using. They may store or redirect the logs away from the normal locations. Also, Forge/MC store the logs in different places for pre 1.7.x and post.

Really?! wow, interesting!

But they should always keep/save the logs, right? it's not a case that they're not being saved at all. Is there a way to redirect the save location (properties, config files or something?)

 

I'm using the server from the Attack of the B-Team site (the download thats next to the Technic Launcher link) uhm... you may have lost me on the host. (Eek! now I sound like a dummy, I'm sure!)

 

Do you know if there's something I can search them by? (I've tried "attack of the b-team log" and "log" in hopes of just ... manually finding them. I've looked in the .minecraft folder and the direct server folder.)

I'm running a "base" server with nothing moved. These are my BTeam logs:

 

(we'll call the server folder SERVER)

 

SERVER/ForgeModLoader-server-0.log

SERVER/server.log

 

That's it.

yup, ok I've got those too in the server folder

 

So is that it? ... it doesn't keep a daily log like the original (non-modded, nothing changed or special about it... official) server does? that one saves the log by ... day I believe, and records all the lag points, whats said, achievements, etc. in multiple files. 

 

and if not, do ya know how I can get that besides manually doing it?

You might be remembering something from MC 1.7.x+. I don't think that feature is in 1.6.x-.
