Tekkit launcher stuck on "Verifying jopt-simple-4.5.jar"

Hello, I have been trying to play tekkit for about 2-3 weeks, but my technic launcher wont load Tekkit Classic!

Please help! I have 16 gigs of DDR3 ram and 8, EIGHT gigs of dedicated ram for the game. I have an SSD so the loading should be fast, also, please be technical, I am a computer program, experienced in java, python and html.

Try this (Assuming you are on windows):

 

Open your roaming folder (By typing %appdata% into windows search or run)

 

Go to '.technic'

 

Delete the folder called 'tekkit'

 

Launch tekkit classic from the launcher again. It may take a while; it will reinstall all files.

 

**PLEASE NOTE: If there are worlds you'd like to save if you've played tekkit before, go into the 'tekkit' folder and copy the folder 'saves' to another directory, then paste it back in after tekkit has reinstalled**
