0 HalibutBarn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Either you've accidentally set up a plain vanilla server and not a Tekkit one, or it's not loading the mods properly for some reason (e.g., when it happened to someone else here, it was because he'd moved the jar file but not the subdirectories). Seeing the server log would kinda help...
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 I'm not fully sure I've done this right but here the link http://pastebin.com/pbLG5d27
0 HalibutBarn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 No, the server.log file from wherever you're running the server, it'll be in the same directory as the Tekkit.jar file.
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 I can only see a "server.log.lck" and i cant open it. :(
0 HalibutBarn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 How are you starting the server? If you're using a hosting service, you might have to ask them for support, or maybe other people here are more familiar with whatever specific host you're using.
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 I'm starting the server by opening a windows batch file named "launch" i downloaded the 2.1.1 server file from http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/ i assumed i would just have to put in my ip and other such and the mods would be fine <edit> It looks like i can open a text file named "server" and its not my server settings. Could that be what your telling me to find?
0 RedStoner Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 your computer may have the extentions hidden. If your looking at that file it should look identical to what your server screen will look like when it was running. We would like to see the section where your server is starting up. that would be very helpful.
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 It looks like my server starting up yes. http://pastebin.com/B7q8GCbS here's the link. It seems to have the whole log of the server. I've run the server a few different times trying to get it to work but when it did i had this problem
0 HalibutBarn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Ah, that's better. It's the common Java version problem: you're using version 6, but the server requires version 7, so upgrade to that (links are on the main Technic page). It does look like most of the mods are getting loaded though, so you should be seeing the new ores and such.
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 I tried generating a new world and playing for 20 minutes (enough time for me to find diamonds) and i didnt see any new ores
0 HalibutBarn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I just noticed in the run that actually generated the world that mods actually weren't loaded, even though they were in previous runs. You had also moved it to that "Test Tekkit" directory for that run though, and I'm wondering if there's a problem with handling paths with spaces in them, which is a common bug. Try moving your server to a different directory without any spaces in the directory path and try again.
0 zilecsi Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 It finally worked! Thanks so much for your help
0 Sabanata99 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I have the same problem, what was the fix? Changing the directory path? edit- Yes changing the directory (so it has no spaces) fixed the problem.
