Mamokin Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 OK so here I am again probably going to get nowhere with this butr who gives a hoot I have other methods. My pack has randomly stopped being able to download. I have it formatted properly and direct download linked again. I have little patience with technic to begin with, let alone forums. Here is my pack that needs a link aparently http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/magister-magi.369914 If the problem cant be resolved I will provide it on my website, a little bla to get working but if it works it beats technic.
planetguy Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 It looks like your Dropbox link is broken. Make sure the zip is in your public directory, and copy the public link for it.
Mamokin Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 If it is broken then all of dropbox is broken because I have used several dropbox links as well as past links that have worked.
planetguy Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Try again maybe? When I put your link into my browser, Dropbox gives back a 404 error.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 29, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted May 29, 2014 @Mamokin: To test simply copy the URL as you have it set in your Technic pack settings and paste it directly into the URL field at the top of the browser and hit Enter. If it starts downloading the file you are good to go. If it gives any error or displays a website where you can click "Download" or something then you have to fix the URL.
Mamokin Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 The link works before I save it but after it doesnt
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 29, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted May 29, 2014 Make sure you are using/getting a dropbox public link to your file. After that look at this page: https://www.dropbox.com/help/201/en
Mamokin Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 thanks for that link, I had to alter the sitedownload link that dropbox gave me. I never did before but now I do...kinda weird but its working now
