NEI fix, known issue thread answer is down

Since the link in the known fix  thread is down can anybody tell me how to get NEI working on a server?

Is there some context for the question/problem? NEI works like any other mod on the server. You wouldn't want/need to include any of the plugins/addons for NEI but the mod itself just works (normally)

I keep getting a unknown item/Id error when trying to use nei to spawn mod items.

The implication is that you are starting the "minecraft_server.jar" file as your server instead of the TekkitLite.jar (or the MCPC+ jar if you are using that).
