Dovahkiin5019 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 So I made a technic pack, started playing it, and not too far into it the lag started to hit. I'll log on and everything will be running at like 50 fps, then either I go into my inventory or into a crafting bench and it goes to 5 fps. I tried the FTB launcher and it doesn't drop the fps like technic does but every few seconds ill get a lag spike that'll freeze the game for 1 or 2 seconds. I allocated about 3 gigs of ram to it and tried adding JVM arguments to the version.json file and that didn't do anything, or I just didn't do it right. Heres the pack; http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/minecraft-reborn.396218
Dovahkiin5019 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 I guess its something to do with NEI, when i disable it the lag stops...
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted June 28, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted June 28, 2014 FPS lag is almost never directly related to the modpack itself. Most of the time it is due to your PC not being beefy enough (RAM/CPU) or not having decent video hardware (laptop, integrated graphics, etc.) Your modpack archive is a zip of the entire client folder. Never do this. The file is almost three times larger that it needs to be because you have done this. For your pack, only include the bin, config and mods folders. The bin folder should ONLY contain modpack.jar. Don't include the modsVoxelMods foder and contents. If this folder/file is in your pack you will overwrite players's configs every time the pack is updated.

The FPS seems to be due to the NEI taking up too much cpu because when I disable it minecraft runs at a smooth 50 fps, other people seem to have this problem as well. There doesn't seem to be a solution other than to disable the NEI.
