major launcher install problem-need to reset install location

when I first downloaded the launcher, I changed the default install location to a file location that now no longer exists, due to being deleted when trying to clear out excess copies of the launcher files.

 

now, even with everything removed from my computer, all downloading the launcher app does is recreate that file path, copy everything in the next folder up, and do nothing, and somehow show that the launcher is active in java.

 

the file path was ...games/technic.

 

now I get .../games/technic/technic(empty) with the first technic folder duplicating the contents of /games.

 

how do I reset the default install location, or do I have to let it process and actually open the launcher to change the install folder in the launchers settings tab?

 

or am I flat out of luck and will never be able to use it?

fixed it, turns out I didn't actually delete the initial install buried in my appdata/roaming folder.

 

please do not reply.
