CtrlAltD3l Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I am new to the Technic launcher program so sorry if this was answered in an old post.... I downloaded a fresh copy of Minecraft today and I loaded up YogBox using the launcher. For the most part it was as i remembered when i played it a few years back and after I played a few hours I wanted to try the other mod packs that were shown in the Technic launcher program. When i loaded Hexxit and Tekkit for the first time and I selected survival mode I was greeted with the NEI interface.I could load whatever I wanted directly into my inventory and I believe it also altered my characters health since I had 10 or so hearts to start off with. I am wanting to make sure that I am playing the in survival mode not creative so how do i disable all cheats etc from the start so i get the full experience of the game? I guess having a built in recipe list is ok, but i don't want any handouts of free gear, life, etc. I also want to know if I swap between mod packs (using the launcher) is there anything that I need to do to "clean up" the Minecraft files so that mods in 1 pack don't get used in the new mod pack? thanks for any information
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 18, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 18, 2014 Modpacks in the launcher each have their own folder structure so there is no cross contamination between packs. You can click the Options button with the inventory open (bottom left) and change the NEI settings for inventory to "Recipe Mode". This will make it just show the recipe rather than give you the item when clicking on things. If you have poor impulse control you can even edit the NEI config files to make it so you can't change the settings from inside the game
