Alright, since it doesn't seem like anyone else has made a post of this, and since some people have this problem, here goes.

A lot of you (including myself) sometimes have the problem where there is no sound in the technic launcher. Nada. Zippo.

But fear not, for I have found a solution! I'm going to guide you through the steps to enable your precious sound in technic.

1. go to your .minecraft folder.

i) for windows xp, go to your start menu, then start the run program. Type "%appdata%" without the quotes, and press enter. You should see the .minecraft folder at the top of your window.

ii) for windows 7, go to your start menu, and type "%appdata%" without the quotes into the search bar. You should see the .minecraft folder at the top of your window.

2. go to your resources folder in .minecraft.

3. copy the "music", "newmusic", and "newsound" folders.

4. now press the back button twice, and then click on the .techniclauncher folder.

5. go to your technicssp folder within .techniclauncher.

6. open the resources folder.

7. now, see how there's only the mod folder in there? That's why sound isn't working. Technic derped up and didn't download all of the sound files. Paste the files you just copied into here.

8. Now enjoy your technic in full sound!

If, for some reason, your sound still didn't work, try pressing f3 to open the gui with the coords and pi graph. Then, press f3 and the "S" key at the same time. I have had to do this in the past, and it turns the sound on like a charm!

I hope this topic helps those who were as confuslled as me when this happened.

Do you mean the technicssp file under launcher, because that one doesn't have the mod folder, and putting the stuff there doesn't work. But just going to technic straight from where you said ends up with a resources folder with a newsound with only mathamos stuff in it and the mod folder, but putting the sound folders in it causes my minecraft to crash. Is there any way you can fix that?

You're supposed to paste the copied sound folders in the technicssp's resources folder.

I had the same problem with Yogbox and was thinking of making this exact thread, but decided against it. Oh you mind reader.

More info for Cheap: I installed it on an XP OS and moved it to my Windows 7 one. I've not yet tried installing from the Windows 7 comp as it has no internet, and looking at it on this one [Linux], it also lacks the sound files; it only has the mod and newsound folders.

Speaking of Linux. Cheap Shot, you should add the launcher directory for Linux to your common problems thread. .files are invisible and I didn't know the name to search for. Took me like 20 minutes to find out [derp]. (/home/[username]/.techniclauncher)
