Infinite Windows Loop

Hi all,

So my friend is extremely computer illiterate and so I'm here to try to find a solution to his problem.

Launcher/Pack Version: all? (further description below)

OS: Windows Vista 32-bit

Version of Java: 1.7.0.4

So he tries to download the .exe version of the launcher and he opens it up and it closes instantly. "Alright, no problem." I tell him to download the .jar version instead and when he opens it, his browser goes on an infinite loop only to be stopped by restarting his computer.

I would be grateful for any advice/solution.

yourhis browser opens when trying to run a .jar? sounds like you'rehe's a real winner. have him try right click -> open with... -> java to run the jar.
