Talisman of Repair not working?

I have placed a talisman of repair into my alchemical chest but 15 minutes later there is no difference in their durability. The page of the EE wiki says that it doesn't require a covalance dust so I haven't used any. What am I doing wrong?

What are you trying to repair? The talisman of repair has a very low passive repair rate, so it might takea (very) long time on certain items. Try a very weak item, for example a stone pick, and see if it repairs that.

I did this and it didn't work after quite some time :/ Maybe I should be more patient.

Turn on item IDs in NEI, you can see durability as an actual number and watch it change.

Try it in a bag. I am quite sure that works fairly quickly. It's possible alch. chests are bugged and the Talisman doesn't work in those. Otherwise, something may be up with your EE install and you should try re-d/l'ing the pack.
