technic pack launcher issues with mac

hay i have bean trying to download and lode the technic pack launcher 1.0.1.3 but have bean encountering issues, after the download (launcher osx (1.0.1.3)) and the update prompt the program tries to run AppleScrirt and fails. Is this an issue with apple not updating their version of java to 1.6 or is this a different issue?

I recall reading that the launcher needs OSX 10.6 or greater.
