Tecnic launcher freezes at splash screen

Launcher/pack Version: whatever the most recent version is (1.9.5b, I think)

Operating System: Vista 64 bit

Version of Java: recently updated, 7

Description of Problem: When I start the launcher, both the .jar and .exe, It starts, updates, and displays the splash screen. then it freezes at the splash screen

Antivirus program:SpyBot S&D

are you sure there's no logs? check your %appdata%\.techniclauncher\logs folder.

I've never heard of your antivirus. Try disabling it before installing technic. It may just be blocking your download because it doesn't recognize it. Pretty standard. Nice free AV's like MSE or Avast work very well and don't get in your way if that's worth anything to you.

UPdate:

added the link to the log file (launcher_0.log)

and it downloads, I can confirm with Firefox's download page. And I told Spybot to completely ignore it. But it still freezes at the splash screen.

I know a lot about computers, but I'm stumbling around in the dark here.

Edit: I am currently reinstalling my java to the version link that's on the technicpack page (7.0 update 4). Hope this fixes it
