Can't allocate enough RAM?

Launcher/pack Version: Launcher 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit

Version of Java: Java 7 64 bit

Description of Problem: When I click the options button under Login to allocate more RAM, it only allows me to allocate 1.5 GB of Ram. This is a problem because I get out of memory errors, and I have enough ram to allocate more.

Antivirus program: Windows Security Essensials(doesn't likely relate to the problem)

Error Messages: N/A

Check and make absolutely sure you have 64-bit Java installed. 32-bit Java won't let you allocate more than 1.5 GB of RAM to any particular application.

If Java's not installed in C:\Program Files\Java, and instead in Program Files (x86), you screwed up.

Also double check to make sure the problem isn't java. I've seen this same thing before where someone was sure they were running 64 bit java, but they actually had like 4 different versions installed, and MC was using a 32 bit. You need to make sure minecraft takes a liking to 64 bit java.

I checked again, and I apparently DID have a 32 bit version. Uninstalling and updating fixed the problem.
