So I recently opened a server for myself and a few friends.....

And I was wondering what a few good plugins to have are? I have heard a few names but never really used any of it as this is the first server I have opened myself. I saw the mention the bukkit on the server download page but I could find any info into what it actually does... sorry if these are dumb questions.

No, it isn't dumb... You're just lazy. Anyway, I suggest you take a look at the Woopa Gaming channel @ Youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/user/WoopaGaming/videos) The videos on that channel are mostly Bukkit plugin related.
